Interactions of Human Commensal Bacteria with Amalgam Derived Mercury: the Science and Its Implications for Infectious Disease and Neurotoxicology
نویسنده
چکیده
Sect. 2. Bacterial mercury transformations Certain bacteria that colonize the human gastrointestinal (GI) tract can methylate inorganic mercury to form methylmercury, CH3Hg(I). Other bacteria that also colonize gut ecosystem can reduce mercuric ion, Hg(II), to monoatomic elemental mercury, Hg(0), a form which readily diffuses across the body's membranes into circulation. The genes for the latter ability are carried on extrachromosomal DNA called plasmids that carry genes for resistance to all known antibiotics.

تجمع جیوه در مو و ناخن انسان: آمالگام دندانی به عنوان فاکتور اصلی مواجهه
Background: Dental amalgam, a mixture of approximately 50% mercury with silver, tin, zinc and copper in varying ratios, is a major source of mercury pollution in the general population not occupationally exposed. The toxicity of mercury is enhanced because it is so readily absorbed, with around 90-100% of mercury vapor being absorbed through the oral mucosa. The aim of the current study is to e...
متن کاملThe toxicology of mercury and its compounds.
A concentrated review on the toxicology of inorganic mercury together with an extensive review on the neurotoxicology of methylmercury is presented. The challenges of using inorganic mercury in dental amalgam are reviewed both regarding the occupational exposure and the possible health problems for the dental patients. The two remaining "mysteries" of methylmercury neurotoxicology are also bein...
متن کاملStructure Evaluation of IroN for Designing a Vaccine against Escherichia Coli, an In Silico Approach
Introduction: Some strains of Escherichia Coli, including intestinal pathogenic strains, commensal strains, and extra intestinal pathogenic E. coli (ExPEC) have a significant impact on human health status. A standard vaccine designed based on conserved epitopes can stimulate a protective immune response against these pathogens. Additionally, enhanced expression at the infection site as a pathog...

Background: Mercury (Hg) is a hazardous metal responsible for environmental contamination and human intoxication. Methyl mercury bio-accumulation through food chain can be responsible for chronic mercury exposure of South Caspian Sea communities with a diet rich in fish. Uncertainties about exposure levels that could have damaging consequences for nervous system development of infants makes b...

The aim of this study was to investigate the interactions between rat intestine decellularized scaffold and human adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells. Rat large intestine was dissected in fragments and decellularized by physicochemical methods. The scaffolds were loaded by human adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells expressing green fluorescent protein. Microscopic sections were prepared fr...
